Coalescing and separation filters are used in oil-water separation systems, mainly to separate oil-water mixtures, suspensions, emulsions, etc. The use process of the coalescing separation filter in the system is divided into:
Solid-liquid separation-emulsification-coalescence-separation-adsorption. In this system, the larger the number ratio of the coalescence filter and the separation filter, the better the coalescence effect and the faster the separation speed. Currently, two types of water treatment cartridges have been standardized.
Coalescing filter element has dual functions of filtering impurities in aviation kerosene and coalescing moisture, and is an important functional element of fine filter.
It can meet the needs of various fine filters used in fixed and mobile refueling facilities.
1. The filter paper with multi-layer composite structure has high filtration accuracy;
2. The carefully set and specially treated glass fiber layer has a good coalescence effect;
3. The flow density is high, and the size of the fine filter is reduced;
4. Large capacity and long service life;
5. The specifications and varieties are complete, which can meet the needs of various fine filters.
The coalescer separator is mainly designed for liquid separation, it contains two kinds of filter elements, namely coalescing filter element and separation filter element. For example, in an oil-water removal system, after oil flows into a coalescer,* it first flows through a coalescer filter, which filters out solid impurities and coalesces tiny water droplets into larger droplets. Most of the coalesced water droplets can be separated and removed from the oil by their own weight and settle in the sump tank. Then, the oil product flows through the separation filter element, and the water is further separated due to the good lipophilicity and hydrophobicity of the separation filter element. The oil enters the lower part of the filter housing through the inlet pipe, and then flows into the filter element from the outside to the inside. At this time, the coarse particles will settle down immediately and be released by the drain valve, while the smaller particles will be intercepted by the filter element.
Contaminants deposited on the filter can cause the differential pressure in the coalescer to rise as the process oil increases. When the pressure difference rises to 0.15 MPa, it indicates that the coalescing filter element is clogged and should be replaced. Oil flows from the coalescer inlet into the main tray and then splits to the main filter element. After filtration, demulsification, water molecule growth and coalescence, the impurities are trapped in the primary filter, and the coalesced beads are precipitated in the sedimentation tank. The material of the secondary filter element is hydrophobic, so that the oil can pass through smoothly, while the free water is blocked from the filter element, flows into the sedimentation tank, and is discharged through the drain valve.
